After six years at the helm of the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Advisory Board, Bob Moses, owner of Beth Marie’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream, served out his final term as Chairman of the Board, effective April 1. At Monday’s board meeting, Bob passed the gavel onto the new chair, Hank Dickenson, Executive Sr. Associate Athletic Director of Community Relations/Business Development for North Texas athletics.
We thank Bob for his tireless work and his support of the entire CVB staff during his time. In addition to ensuring that the CVB stayed on mission, he also was instrumental in revamping the structure of the board and helped to create more defined benchmarks for the CVB.
Bob never missed a meeting and supported the CVB each year during the Texas Travel Industry Association’s Unity Dinner in Austin, also remaining in the capitol to present Denton’s upcoming tourism initiatives during Converge on the Capital.
During his tenure, the city of Denton saw tremendous growth in its service sector. The CVB also made major strides, including the acquisition of DentonRadio.com and the conception and opening of the Discover Denton Welcome Center on the Square.
Bob has always been a champion of Denton and the CVB and will continue to be around to lend a helping hand or a scoop of ice cream. He will remain on our board as Immediate Past Chair.
