Are you ready to make a life change and be the BEST version of yourself? Let’s make 2019 the year for no excuses.
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Jenny Dean — and I’m not your average fitness instructor.
I’m an authentic believer in using fitness to make a positive change in every aspect of your life – your health, your friendships, your career, and your relationships with your partner and your children. This mentality is making waves in the fitness world and is changing the way Frisco feels about getting healthy.
Just ask Mayor Jeff Cheney, who never misses one of my classes. My mission is to create a community with like-minded, health-minded people that support and lift each other up daily. I think about it this way:
We rise by lifting others. I believe when you’re in your best physical shape it affects every aspect of your life. Your work performance improves, your relationships get better, your confidence increases… It affects how we live every day.
So do you want to change your life in 2019? Strive to incorporate the following behaviors and disciplines into your daily routine:
HIIT it hard in 2019.
Short, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts have great value and can be done several times throughout a day. The truth is, no one really has an hour to work out anymore, so HIIT training is a smart way to utilize 10 to 20 minutes at a time.
Recently I launched a series of HIIT workouts on my website. These quick, effective workouts can be done at home or in the office. Remember — THIS IS YOUR NO EXCUSE YEAR! No one can tell me they don’t have 20 minutes.
Try POWER Yoga.
Yoga is the healing exercise of the decade. Of the many things yoga can do for you, a few standouts are: an increase in stamina, strength, and flexibility, toned muscles, alleviated stress and tension, elimination of toxins, improved blood circulation, and a boosted immune system. Plus, it’s a BIG calorie burner! On my website, you’ll find a new, 45-minute POWER flow yoga class that can be done in the comfort of your home.
It may surprise you, but I believe sleep is more important than your daily workout. How we sleep sets the tone for our entire day. Did you know when you get less than seven hours of sleep per night your performance decreases, your lung function decreases, your injury rate increases by 60 percent, and lactic acid buildup increases, causing muscle fatigue and muscle soreness?
When it comes to exercise, if you’re getting good quality sleep, you’re 20-30 times more efficient at the movement you learned the day before.
Get out of the RUT!
Working out must become a habit or you will QUIT! Two quick ways to get out of a rut? Use a workout calendar and have an accountability partner. And remember, doing something is BETTER than doing nothing. Be AWARE of your default excuses!
Everyone has 100 excuses as to why it’s inconvenient or hard to work out. The reality is… if it’s important to us, we will find a way! GET MOTIVATED. Keep a motivating picture on your phone. Look at it every time you want to skip your workout. For the days you can’t make it to the gym, take a walk around the neighborhood.
Eat Right – Fuel your Body.
There’s so much information about which diet to try, what to eat, when to eat it… it can be VERY confusing! I approach food choices that same as putting gas in my car. If I don’t fill the car up, it doesn’t go anywhere! Simiarly, if you don’t feed your muscles and brain, it will NOT perform for you.
Healthy is About Finding What’s Right For YOU
My vision is to inspire others and leave them with a life-changing experience by providing life tips, and true results that improve their body and spirit. Ultimately it stems from sincerely caring about every individual, and creating a safe, open, transparent environment.
I want to leave a lasting impression while sharing knowledge and inspiring individuals to live their BEST life. Once you’re right in your body and mind, EVERYTHING changes. I want to leave individuals feeling like they can do anything in the world and my hope is that it lasts a lifetime.
Healthy is about finding what works for you. Because healthy can be hard and life gets in the way — and that’s okay. I want people to understand that when you choose to do better healthy feels awesome! It impacts everything. Home, work, and everyday life.
My goal is for people to understand that exercise is more than just physical, it’s therapeutic. I want to be the reason that someone took a walk during their lunch break, or took a class after work. It starts with doing just ONE THING and making that one thing a habit. Which, in time, will become as routine as brushing your teeth.
