Monday, August 12

Community

Frisco ISD School Board Meeting: 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm at the Frisco ISD Administration Building, 5515 Ohio Drive. The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees will go into closed session at 6:30 pm and resume the open meeting at 7:30 pm for regular business.

DFW Restaurant Week at The Star in Frisco: August 2-31, an opportunity to enjoy special menus from some of The Star in Frisco’s finest restaurants including Da Mario, Dee Lincoln Prime, Neighborhood Services and Zaytinya and a specialty bites menu from Concrete Cowboy. Women Enhancing Business (WEB) Luncheon: 11:30 am – 1:00 pm in the Dancer Room at Hall Park, 2801 Network Blvd #160. WEB is the women’s division of the Frisco Chamber with a mission to provide female business owners, managers and employees the opportunity to meet, advise, support, mentor, network and encourage one another. Inspire Frisco: 4:30 – 6:30 pm at UNT Inspire Park. Unlike most cities across the globe, Frisco has an active entrepreneurial environment in the under 18 age group. Come see an example of two entrepreneurs who are deep in technology and learn how they have been able to grasp the idea of entrepreneurship and technology at such a young age.

Early Music: 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm at Frisco Fine Art. For the first time in Frisco, Lumedia Musicworks will present a performance of early, baroque, classical music. This unique event will feature an 11 piece ensemble, a classical sitarist, and surprise guest. Tickets are free.

Chunk Your Junk: 8:00 am – Noon at the Environmental Collection Center. It’s time to clear out the clutter! Residents may bring items for safe disposal, recycling or donation.

Me, Myself, and I: 7:00 pm at thegallery8680. A thought-provoking exhibition in keeping with The Gallery860’s desire to create a space for emerging artists of a visionary nature.

Bring it On – The Musical: August 16-18 and 23-25 at Frisco Discovery Center. Bitingly relevant, sprinkled with sass and inspired by the hit film, Bring It On, this NTPA-Frisco production takes audiences on a high-flying journey filled with the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and forgiveness.

Science in the Summer™ Family Day: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at Sci-Tech Discovery Center. A special celebration of the GSK Science in the Summer™ program with exciting and explosive WOW shows, experiments and activities.

Health and Fitness

Free Community Yoga Class: 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Dwell Yoga Studio. This donation-based, all-level class will flow through traditional vinyasa and hatha yoga postures with modifications provided. 100% of donations collected from this class will go to the studio’s charity of the month.

Sports

Dallas Rattlers: 7:00 pm at The Ford Center at The Star. Dallas Rattlers vs. Denver Outlaws.
