What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve? Your Guide to a Celebration in Denton

Published on: Wed, Dec 19, 2018

There’s something special about a New Year’s Eve in Denton. Maybe it’s the music; maybe it’s the food. Maybe it’s a combination of both. Spoiler alert: it’s *definitely* a combination of both.  Many of your favorite cool craft beer and culinary haunts will be hosting parties, soirees, fiestas and fun events, and there’ll be music and merry times to boot. You’ve got lots of options, and you’ll want to see 2018 off with a bang as you ring in the new year. To make sure you have the most Denton of all Denton New Year’s Eves, I’ve put together a guide of the places to be and things to see. Enjoy — and have a happy new year!

New Year’s Eve at Steve’s

An Eve at Steve’s is the best kind of Eve, because every Eve at Steve’s is a sight to see. Live jazz and wine awaits all who want a good time, and I promise, if I go, that I won’t rhyme. NYE at Steve’s includes three options: $10 for two hours of music and wine from 7-9, $25 for the 10-12 party, or $35 for all five hours.

New Year’s Eve Celebration at Wine Squared

They had me at Charcuterie Table. That’s right: cheese, meats and more will all be available at Wine Squared. And if that’s not enough, remember, it’s Wine Squared: there’ll be merry Merlot, party-ready Pinot and Chardonnay to go with your Charcuterie.

NYE Celebration at Killer’s Tacos

If ringing in the new year to some killer local tunes sounds like your kind of thing, then Killer’s is the place to be. Jade Nickol, Kris Wallace, Remain and more will post up at Killer’s Tacos for four hours of must-see performances. Join these local luminaries for a free champagne toast, $2 Miller Drafts and a special NYE menu. Oh, and tacos. I somehow made it to the end without mentioning tacos. There will be tacos, and they will be delicious.

Party Like It’s 2088 at Free Play Denton

This party wins the award for creativity. Replete with revelry, retro swag and rad arcade games, Free Play Denton’s NYE bash will keep you and your crew entertained until 2 a.m. Just $15 gets you full access to the arcade, plus pizza service and your own confetti launcher. A timeless deal, indeed.

New Year’s Eve at Barley & Board

Admission: $0. Champagne Ale Table Beer: Unknown (but worth it). NYE Memories at B&B: Priceless. Barley & Board invites you to jam along to performances by Biographies, Puddin Taine and Strays while dining on their delicious grub and sipping a special holiday creation. Need I say more? I can’t, because I’m already on my way there.

Wherever you end up in Denton on New Year’s Eve, remember to stay safe and, in honor of a new year, join me in raising a glass to 2019 and all the music, beer and merry times ahead.
